A smart-phone isn't right for me, but PDA's are going obsolete; any help on what to do to keep work easy? - pda accessories

I like to keep separate my devices, so the idea of a smartphone is not in question for me, and with an iPAQ (PDA), but how are things in oblivion, to hold on accessories to be found, is more difficult. Can someone help me, what can I do with Microsoft Office on the fly work without a smartphone? Thanks.
